This is a very easy run around Barnard Castle which can be started at any place on the route.

• Starting in Woodside run up to Montalbo road and turn left, turning left again into Railway Terrace and continue down towards the vets.
• Do asmall loop up and down by the industrial units before going onto Harmire Industrial estate before looping through the estate turning right onto the main Folly Top road.

• Go past the Red Well Inn and GlaxoSmithKline up towards Bede Road and turn left. Take care crossing the main road, continue up to Victoria Road and turn right and continue down towards Green Lane.
• Turn left onto Green Lane and continue up to Bartlemere, turn right and go through Bartlemere Estate to find the footpath that takes you through to Kalafat past the Football pitch.
• Go through Kalafat and turn right onto Crook Lane and continue along through the footpaths past the graveyards to the car park by Morrisons.
• You could add more distance by doing a loop of the Bowes Museum or going through the Bowes Museum and going along Newgate to the Town Centre.
• Make your way to the Post Office and turn right onto Flatts Lane taking a small dog leg on Vere Road leading onto Raby Avenue.
• Continue along Raby Avenue and turn right onto Cecil Road. At the T junction at Wellington Road/Woodside and Cecil Road turn left and follow Woodside back to your starting position.

Remember to stop your gps watch, and take time to stretch and cool down.
