• Start at the Buttermarket and head down The Bank. 
• At the bottom of the hill turn Left on to Gray Lane. 
• Continue straight ahead across the Demesnes, an open grass area. 
• Continue on the track between the cottages, through a gate and onto a path beside the river.  After approx. 0.8 miles, pass through a gate and into a wood.  Follow the path until it reaches a road, watch out for tree roots ! 
• Turn Right and cross the River Tees on the road bridge. 
• After crossing the bridge turn immediately R towards Eggleston Abbey. 
• Follow the road for approx. 0.3 miles. 
• As the road starts to climb look out for a footpath sign in a hedge on the right, just after a slight left hand bend in the road. 
• Follow the footpath for approx. 0.6 miles along the tree line until reaching a tarmac drive. 
• Turn R into the caravan park and aim for the bottom L/H corner. 
• Join the riverside path once again, heading up river until reaching a green footbridge. 
• Turn R across the bridge and follow the road back to the start at the Buttermarket.

Remember to stop your gps watch, and take time to stretch and cool down.
